Bergen-based specialist subsea service company DOF Subsea Norway AS has been awarded several significant contracts for company multipurpose vessel Geosund, ensuring solid utilisation through the summer.
In late April, Geosund successfully completed annual
subsea inspection work for
Mærsk Olie og Gas utilising a combination of a Schilling UHD ROV and the new Focus
2 ROTV.
Immediately following the Mærsk work, Geosund began
subsea wellhead removal for
the first Norse Cutting & Abandonment campaign of 2010. NCA has recently awarded
DOF Subsea Norway a 3 year Frame Agreement with 2 x 1 yearly options.
Upon completion of the NCA work, Geosund will commence work for Subsea 7 in the
Valhall field. DOF Subsea will use the Geosund along with two WROVs to fulfil
the scope of work, which includes initiation rigging installation, seabed preparations,
turn point installation, mattress installation & LBL installation. The initial
contract is for approximately 3 weeks but has the possibility to be extended through
June.
Later in the season Geosund will perform a variety of
subsea tasks, including
“ready for operations” (RFOs) in the Gjøa field for Statoil.
Duncan MacPherson, Regional Manager for Atlantic & Europe, comments “the
recent string of awards exemplifies the wide variety of
subsea services DOF Subsea
has to offer. We are pleased that the quality of our project execution has led
to a continued and growing relationship with several of our key customers and
attracted new clients as well.”
